News item from Yahoo today:
" AOMORI, Japan - Leading energy-consuming nations urgeworld economyd oil producers Saturday to boost their output to counter soaring prices threatening the world economy, while they pledged to develop clean energy technologies and improve efficiency.
The five nations — the United States, China, Japan, India and South Korea — differed, however, on how urgently oil subsidies should be phased out, with Washington backing bold movement while India and China warned of political and economic instability."
------
SO ALL THAT CAN BE REDUCED TO ONE SENTENCE:
PLEASE, PLEASE, PUMP MORE OIL!
Washington back's bold movement? We certainly need that now (actually we needed that more than two years ago . . . actually we needed that 10 years ago . . . actually - ahh, I'm sure you get it!). How about gas rationing, Mr. Prez? How about a moratorium on building gas guzzlers? How about doing what they're doing in Europe - taxing gas guzzlers more to drive on the roads.? How about . . . Gosh, the list of 'bold movements' is huge!!!
However, about the only bold movement I think we'll see now from Washington will be akin to the movement ya do when ya head for the bathroom for some "private time". ;-)
