News item: Channel 11:Prices are likely going up, way up
Prices at the pump are expected to keep climbing, especially after last week's furious surge in oil prices. Crude came very close to $140 a barrel in a record-shattering rally on Friday.
An analysts on CBS The Early Show said the price of gas must now catch up to the huge surge in oil. The price that would match $140 a barrel is about $5.50 a gallon. He says that is a real possibility by the end of summer.
Across Ohio, commuters, businesses and government agencies are making adjustments to try to hold down their fuel costs. The Toledo area's transit agency is eliminating bus routes, cutting back weekend hours and adding new express bus service
BUT IN ALL FAIRNESS I WILL ADD:Gas holds below $4 in Ohio
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The average price for gasoline now tops $4 nationwide, but prices in Ohio are hanging on just below that threshold.
A gallon of regular gas is averaging $3.97 in the state, just a penny more than last week according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
(BUT HOW IN THE HELL IT'S DOING THAT - IS ANYBODY'S BEST GUESS - DO IF'N YA WANTS TO HAVE SOME "CHEAP" GAS NOW - BETTER GET OUT THERE 'N BUY UP ABOUT 50 TEN GALLON GAS CANS AND FILL'ER UP 'FORE IT GOES UP! LET THE GAS HOARDING BEGIN!)
